Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! 2013 started out with a bang! Now it is time to record a little bit about the Paci kids from 2012, and what their resolutions for 2013 will be.

Starting with the littlest ...Claire. Some of Claire's favorite things from 2012: losing her first 2 teeth, starting 1st grade (even though she felt shy in the beginning). Playing soccer, both indoor and outdoor, and going on adventures to visit our family. Claire's resolution for 2013 is to listen to her parents more. (sounds like a GREAT resolution to me!)

Next is Joseph.. Some of Joey's favorite memories from 2012 are: starting 3rd grade in a new school, having a huge snowball fight with his dad, finishing 2nd in the Jingle Bell run, and playing with our awesome dog Libby. Joey's resolution for 2013 is to play with Libby more (maybe that includes cleaning up after her in the yard?!?)

Emma had lots of good things to remember about 2012: turning 10 (the big double digits!), going to Peek n' Peak with the family, pottery camp, being a 5th grader (the "oldest" kids in the school!), and her first airplane trip to Florida. Emma's resolutions for 2013 are to get stronger by exercising more and improve her handwriting (it's hard to remember to be neat when you have so many cool things to say!)

So there you have it...2013 is off to a sparkling fresh start! May the teenage years of the new millennia be filled with joy and happiness...and a little bit of momentary chaos!

Secret Hideaway Curtains

Project for today: create zebra striped curtains for the girls' room.

Emma and Claire share a room. It's a pretty big room, and they are okay with sharing most of the time, but over the past year they both felt the need for some personal space. Emma chose the area under her loft bed, and Claire claimed one of the dormers. They both spent a lot of time decorating their secret hideout. Here is how it looked before the curtains:
Claire's dormer:

Emma's loft:

Well, even after all of their "special stuff" was moved in, their hideouts still lacked privacy.
Curtains were a necessity. We purchased a set of zebra striped twin sheets at Target and got out the trusty old sewing machine. I am NO seamstress, but I can sew a straight line, which is luckily all you need to do for this project. A few straight seams and two tension rods later and, voila, two happy girls!

Now they have their own private hideaway to escape from our usual family chaos!

Adventures in Ice Skating

Hi, I'm Emma and this is Adventures in Ice Skating!

That's Claire and she was a little speed demon. She also had fun in the ice skating lesson that we received.

That's me and I had a lot of fun. I mostly just helped the littler girls with their ice skating.

There's Joey, the bearded child. He was like a hockey player, low, fast, and tearing around the rink.

So that's it.  See ya later with more "momentary" chaos!

One Year Later....

Ok, so it's been almost one whole year since my last post.  I'm going to be better this year, really I am.  I promise.  I have lots of reasons to start blogging again...for one, my enduring infatuation with Pintrest has inspired me to blow the dust off of my blog and actually post something once in a while...and maybe, just maybe...pin some of the cooler stuff we do around here.  Also, for the past year, I have been a miserable failure in the picture taking department.  Hopefully I will be inspired to snap away if I have somewhere to post all of those beautiful pictures.  Oh, and I also have some very creative "guest bloggers" who are itching to express themselves.  So...here goes....2013 will be a year of self-expression amid the chaos, and maybe I will capture some of these memories.  Wish me luck!

Happy New Year!

All decked out and ready to P-A-R-T-Y!!!
Notice the black & white coordination going on here?  That was due to the creativity of my good friend and ultimate New Year's Eve hostess extraordinaire, Nicole.  Love it. We looked fabulous ;)

Claire-bear almost conked out before the countdown, but after changing into jammies and getting all comfy, she made it all to midnight...then fell promptly to sleep in daddy's arms at 12:05.  She's a trooper!

Love ringing in the New Year with my sweet boy!  Can you tell he's itching to get back downstairs to his buddies and the video game controller?  Hmmm...I'll still grab a NYE squeeze from him while I still can!

Let the party begin!  After a 60 second countdown (yes, the kids all counted down from SIXTY), the noisemakers were blaring & this girl was lovin' every minute of it!

Happy New Year! !! 2011 brought us a new office, a new dog, and more good times than I can remember...we'll see what 2012 has in store!

Project 365: Week 22

Day 148: This week of pictures is devoted to the GRAND OPENING of our new office! It has been a loooooong 3 month renovation process, but Paci Chiropractic is now open for business!

Day 149: A shot of Tio's office.

Day 150: The back hallway...this lighting makes it look much more yellow than it is in real life. I LOVE how the colors came out...I have Dan at Sherwin Williams to thank for that!

Day 152: Quite possibly my favorite part of the whole office...our "kids" room! The "horse table" is still a favorite among our smallest patients. I used Uppercase Living for the vinyl wall art. We love kids at Paci Chiropractic!

Day 153: The therapy room. More Uppercase Living vinyl wall art. I really like how the dandelion turned out!

Day 154: The front desk. Just how I had imagined! I love the stone work...Tio did an amazing job!

Day 155: The waiting room. I love all of the natural light that this room gets. It's hard to imagine it used to be a bank...we've changed so much!

The best part of this whole project is that we NEVER have to move the office again!!! Paci Chiropractic is here to stay!

Project 365: Week 21

Day 141: I'm in VEGAS!!!!! My much anticipated trip for my Grandpa's 90th birthday has arrived. How cool is it that my Grandpa wanted to celebrate this monumental occasion with a trip to Vegas & LA to be on the Price is Right?!?! I'm so glad to be a part of a family who would do these crazy things! Pictured above is my amazing "Papa", Fred Giddy. He's the youngest 90 year old you'll ever meet. He's a huge inspiration to me and Tio. Papa was a chiropractor and graduated from Palmer in the '40's. We are so proud to carry on his "chiropractic heritage"...side note: if one of our kids becomes a chiropractor someday, they'll be 4th generation (my papa, my dad, & Tio are all chiropractors!). Happy Birthday, Papa!!!!

Day 142: Actually, I'm not sure which day this was taken on! All the days blend together in Vegas! This is my mom & my sister & I in one of the very cool casino shopping malls. The shopping in Vegas is awesome, who knew?!?

Day 143: 1st night in Hollywood! Here is a shot of the whole fam! Isn't it awesome that all of these people came out to celebrate my grandpa's birthday! 13 of us traveled from the east coast, and we met up with 7 more family members who live in CA. We had quite the birthday bash!

Day 144: Today we film the PRICE IS RIGHT! This is a shot of the CBS studio that we will be filming at. They also shoot American Idol and Dancing with the stars here. This whole process is so cool...I can't believe we actually made it here!

Day 145: Another shot of Hollywood! We're at the Grauman's Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. This is Marilyn Monroe's handprints!

Day 146: My trip is coming to an end...it is almost time for me to return home to my life as a stay-at-home-mom in small town Pennsylvania....I must leave Vegas and Hollywood behind, but before I do, I had to include 1 shot of my family. It's been a long time since we've all been together, and I'm so glad we could do it for such a happy occasion!

Day 147: Look what I get to return home to....Claire's first dance recital! I made it home in the nick of time...I'm so glad I didn't miss this! Our beautiful dancer did a wonderful job on stage! I think SHE may be headed to Hollywood someday!!!!!
