Project 365: Week 12

Day 78: Move over Tony Hawk, there's a new skater in town! Joey used some of his birthday money to buy himself a "real" skateboard. He's been practicing his skills, and seems determined to go to a skate park in the near future...we'll have to see about that! Day 79: Check out the fashionista! Claire had fun getting dressed-up during one of Emma's playdates. Her look is complete with make-up and hair. This little sister loves the attention of the big girls! Day 80: I went "Easter Dress" shopping! Oh, it was so fun! Look at the hats! Adorable. I'm trying to enjoy this time when I can pick out my kids clothes and they don't mind! I can also dress them alike and they love it! I'm sure my days of doing this are numbered...but for now I'll enjoy it. I'm sure Joey is glad that he has two sisters that I can dress alike-and leave him out of it! I remember when he was a baby I'd find matching boy/girl outfits for he and Emma and I thought it was SO cute...I doubt he'd find that cute now!

Day 81: Piano practice! It's great that Emma can help when Joey gets stuck on a song...Lord knows I would have NO idea what to tell him! I love to see them working together like this. (Sigh)

Day 82: Another day at our second-home. The office is coming along...we have the start of some walls! By next week, it will be all framed out and ready for the dry-waller. Things are moving along!

Day 83: I'm trying out my upholstery skills by recovering some of Tio's office chairs. These chairs sit in each treatment room, and they were a very "blah" mint green color, so I decided to spruce them up. I think they'll look great in the NEW office!

Day 84: I keep forgetting to record the awesome job Tio did on the garage door steps! Where we used to step out onto a bucket, we now have a lovely platform and stairs! Although this is still a work in progress, I have big plans for this area. The platform stretches all the way to the opposite wall, and I have visions of coat hooks and shoe cubbies in our future...just because this house didn't come with a mud room, doesn't mean we can't create one!

Project 365: Week 11

Day 71: This week started out GREAT with a visit from Granny & Pappy! The kids loved this surprise little visit, and Tio and I did, too! Granny & Pappy kept the kids busy while we worked at the office...and we REALLY appreciate the help! Below I captured them playing a game of Left-Right-Center...good times!!!

Day 72: We've got sprouts! The kids are growing MAMMOTH sunflowers for the garden this year, and the seeds are doing great! The package says that these babies can grow to be 12 feet tall....hmmmm....

Day 73: Today was a day for crafting. Emma loves to make these sun catchers, and she's gotten quite good at it, too! There is a bit of skill involved in this craft...it involves tweezers and a lot of patience. She's got quite a collection, now, one that I'm sure will continue to grow!

Day 74: GOOD-BYE CR-V!!! We sold our car today...and we were both a little sad to see it go. We bought this car brand new in 2002, just after Emma was born. It was our first "family" car. At one point (before we broke down and bought the mini-van) we had all three kids packed in the back seat of this car like little sardines. Oh, the memories...

Day 75: This boy takes his Jenga SERIOUSLY! Look at that concentration...the intensity...searching for the perfect piece to move without toppling the entire tower. It's a skill, I tell ya!

Day 76: Happy St. Patrick's Day! We were thrilled to see that a leprechaun stopped by our house and left us a box of Lucky Charms for breakfast...he even turned our milk GREEN!!!! What a prankster! We hope he liked all of the "leprechaun art" we've been making for the past week!
Day 77: The "Spring Fling" event for the library was a BIG hit! We had so much fun & we helped a great cause! I'm anxious to hear how much money we've raised for the library fund! What a fun night!

Project 365: Week 10

Day 64: The ninja and the dancer are whooping it up in the new office...they'd better enjoy this space while they can...demo day is coming soon!
Day 65: The kids have been SOOOOO patient with us as we've spend days & days & days at the new office, I decided to reward them with a trip to Chuck E Cheese. Look at this face...do you think she likes it here?!?

Day 66: It's a sad, sad day for the little ones at the Besore Library...today was Miss Rose's last story time :( She has been such a wonderful children's librarian for the last few years, I don't know what we'll do without her! Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll see her again as she searches for a job in her field of elementary ed...hopefully Greencastle will snatch her up! Miss Rose will always have a special place in the Paci family's heart!

Day 67: It's "Fat Tuesday"...so we had to celebrate with donuts! We also had gumbo for dinner in honor of Mardi Gras!

Day 68: The lego maniac is at it again. He designed this "ninja vehicle" to enter yet another lego contest. He even snapped this picture himself. We'll be sending it off to the magazine to be judged, you never know, we might have a winner :)

Day 69: Look at these scary little vampires! This is what you get after a weekend trip to Chuck E Cheese (you've got to spend those tickets on something, right!). These teeth glow in the dark, no less. Very spooky!

Day 70: Here is another peek at the "new" office. We're at the point where "it's going to get worse before it gets better"... Hopefully it will start getting better SOON!

Project 365: Week 9

Day 57: Here it is...the future home of Paci Chiropractic!!!! We closed the deal today and the building is ours!!! Now the hard work begins...more pictures to come :)

Day 58: Let the demolition begin! Now that we have the keys, Tio is ready to get to work. We have lots of work ahead of us, so we might as well dig in! It's going to get worse before it gets better!!!

Day 59: We won! This is the super fun "game" basket that we bid on at the PTO silent auction. It was jam packed full of fun games...there will be a lot of game nights at the Paci house in the near future!

Day 60: It's a special Brownie meeting today...we get to visit our sister Daisy troop! The Brownies get to help the Daisy's complete their first "try-it". We set up 4 stations and the Daisies spent 10 minutes at each one. The Brownies did ALL the work...I didn't need to help at all! They have really grown up over the past 3 years!

Day 61: It's Dr. Seuss day..which of course means "green eggs and ham" for breakfast! Emma is dressing as "Thing 1" and Joey will be sporting the Dr. Seuss hat for the day. I get to visit Joey's class and make a Dr. Seuss snack. What a fun day to celebrate!

Day 62: Claire was the photographer for this picture of the day. This is the view she's been having lately, since we've been running LOTS of errands every day for the new office. She's a great little travel buddy, though, always a trooper and full of smiles.

Day 63: It's COSTUME DAY!!! The costumes have arrived at the dance studio so Claire had her first fitting...it's a little too small, so we're going for one size up. This little girl is going to steal the show!!!

Project 365: Week 8

Day 50: "Girls in Sports" day at Wilson College. Today Emma participated in a fun-filled day of sports with the college athletes at Wilson. They played soccer, tennis, and team building games. Then they got to stay and watch the girls basketball team play a game. Go Wilson!

Day 51: Horse Show! Here she is, our little equestrian, getting ready to show Sarah, her lesson horse. Emma got to compete with the older girls today, which was a bigger challenge for her. She also got to compete in a new class, showmanship. She did great, earning one 2nd and two 3rd place ribbons.

Day 52: SNOW DAY! Again. What to do. How about breaking out the Lincoln logs? Emma was the photographer of this masterpiece...in fact, I had my pick from about 1000 shots of this cute little house!

Day 53: Check out these snow bums...lounging around! Daddy built them a VERY cool snow fort in the driveway, complete with hidden cubbies and a built in slide! They better enjoy it, this might be the last snow of the season (I hope!).

Day 54: What is this little white thing you might ask? Well...it's a very cool-"this is what you get when you lose a tooth in school"- tooth holder! That's right, Joey has lost his 2nd tooth & he couldn't be more thrilled! He was a little surprised that the tooth fairy only brought him $1 this time, rather than the $5 she coughed up for his first tooth, but hey-you never know what you're going to get when you put that tooth under your pillow!

Day 55: Right now in the Paci house we have what I would consider a "paper airplane obsession" occurring! Daddy is the BEST paper airplane creator EVER...whereas Mommy-not so much. I am pretty good at picking them up all over the house, though, so that should count for something, right?

Day 56: They're here...Girl Scout Cookies!!!! Now we get to sort and deliver these tasty treats! Luckily, we bought one of each to try! If only I could keep the Samoa's all to myself......

Project 365: Week 7

Day 43: Ninja Birthday Party! Joey celebrated his 7th birthday with a party at his Karate Dojo! 23 kids had fun on the "ninja" obstacle course (don't fall in the lava!), defending the castle, playing extreme dragon tail, and of course ultimate karate dodge ball! It was a FUN party...perfect way for little boys to burn off energy on a cold winter day!

Day 44: Skiing at Whitetail! This was our first time out this year on skis, and what a beautiful day on the slopes!!! It's amazing that the kids don't forget anything from year to year...they just get better! Hopefully we can get out there again before the end of the season.

Day 45: Happy Valentine's Day! We had a day full of "sweet" surprises...topping it off with heart shaped hamburgers with pink mashed potatoes for dinner!

Day 46: Wrestling Banquet! We've spent a lot of time this year re-building the Jr. Wrestling team. It has been a lot of work, but a lot of fun, too. We were lucky enough to have the help of some really great families, so it was great to celebrate with them at our end of the season banquet. The kids all got trophies to commemorate their hard work. Way to go, Blue Devils, we can't wait for another great season next year!!!

Day 47: Pump it up!!! I love it when the kids have a day off of school...and it's even better when we plan to get together with friends. About 25 of our friends met us at Pump it up for a great day of jumping!!!

Day 48: Happy 7th Birthday, Joey!!! What better way to start your day than french toast with a candle in it?!? Check out the lung power this boy has...powdered sugar everywhere!!!

Day 49: 3-2-1 BLASTOFF!!! Joey got a rocket for his birthday (this was definitely his Dad's idea). Although the launch was a success...the landing was not! The rocket didn't survive it's maiden voyage, but the rocket scientists in the Paci house are not discouraged...they plan to rebuild and relaunch!!! I'm sure this is not the last you'll see of the rocket...

Project 365: Week 6

Day 36: It's our second day with little Ariston (and Aunt Heather) visiting, and I think we've decided to keep him!!! He is so sweet! So laid back and happy, this little man just goes with the flow. One thing we learned about him, though, is that it is incredibly difficult to get this little guy to smile for a picture...he turns into stone face when he sees the camera :) So the above shot is the result of a lot of silly faces and crazy sounds! We missed our friends the minute they pulled out of the driveway...but I promise we'll see them again soon!

Day 37: SUPERBOWL!!!!! This was the day...the Steelers vs. the Packers! We decked the whole house out in black and gold. The kids had Steeler tattoos and black & gold beads. We made signs and special "Steeler" food. Six other families came to watch the game with us...the stage was set for an awesome game...and an awesome game it was...too bad the outcome wasn't in our favor :( But we still love our Steelers! Bring on next season :)

Day 38: Here we are in Emma's school gym. It is dress rehearsal night for the Talent Show. Emma is playing a piano piece, and she is the first act of the whole show! Can't wait for her big performance!

Day 39: I had to do it, I blew off the dust and brought the sewing machine up from the basement. It's been a long time since this thing has seen the light of day! I am making "Ninja" headbands for Joey's birthday party. There are 23 kids coming to the party, so I was in for a long day of sewing and "puffy painting". They turned out cute, though, and I had several moms tell me that their kid wouldn't take it off once they got home! These little ninjas sure do have style :)

Day 40: Look who made the paper! It was the 100th day of school, and Joey's class donated dimes to the library. Joey was chosen to bring the bag of dimes up on the stage, and was captured for the local paper!

Day 41: Talent Show! Here is our little musician getting ready to play "Etude in Sixths" for the school talent show. She was the very first act, and she played beautifully! Way to go Emma!

Day 42: Joey's birthday party is tomorrow, so I spent today baking and decorating his cake. I had seen this cake design on-line, and thought it looked simple enough....HA! When I first started, it looked very much like a baseball jersey and not a karate gi...but after adding the belt and the brown piping, I think it came out all right. Funny thing is, we've been watching the Cake Boss a lot lately, so I was feeling inspired, but I don't think a career in cake decorating is in my future...
